Thor Odinson, often simply known as Thor, is a prominent character in Marvel Comics. He is based on the Norse mythological god of the same name, primarily associated with thunder, lightning, storms, and strength.

Born in Asgard as the son of Odin, the Allfather and King, and Frigga, the Queen, Thor is the heir to the throne of Asgard. He possesses incredible strength, stamina, and durability, far surpassing humans and most Asgardians. His primary weapon is Mjolnir, a mystical hammer granting him the power to control thunder and lightning, as well as fly.

Initially arrogant and reckless, Thor was banished to Earth by Odin to learn humility. During his time on Earth, he adopted the identity of Dr. Donald Blake, a mortal physician. He eventually regained his memories and powers, becoming a defender of both Earth and Asgard.

Thor is a founding member of the Avengers, a superhero team dedicated to protecting Earth from global threats. He frequently travels between Earth and Asgard, battling various villains and cosmic threats. His storylines often explore themes of responsibility, redemption, and the clash between mythology and modern society.
